The fourth round of the 2014 World Cup was pretty close from where I live since it took place in Moutier (BE). A really nice organisation with all kind of sections featuring various materials and elements brought the city into a nice athmosphere for two days of competition during friday and saturday. With a big technical problem during the semi-finals, I’m really happy about my reaction and the way I fought until the end.

All started really well for me on friday for the quarter-finals. I felt OK and with a good mindset but my back was still hurting from the last Swiss Cup in Bex last week-end. I had to save energy and avoid to much pain when riding, stretching between sections. Some friends were there to support me during the competition which brought me some extra motivation. The sections were long and varied and I did qualify at the seventh place, ready to compete the day after for the semi-finals.

The day after, the semi-finals looked hard but good. I fell off in the second section, breaking my fork from a pretty high obstacle, increasing the pain in my back and forcing me to take another bike. I had to take a friend’s bike which I wasn’t used to. But I was determined to give all I had, no matter what happened. I succeed with 3 penalties in the next section which was really hard. And then, made an incredible 1 point in a difficult log sections. I was relaxed, with a hint of aggressiveness and the pain was supportable. I finished the competition with some really nice other sections. I finished at an honorable 14th place despite what happened during the competition. I’m already practising a lot at home to prepare the next and last World Cup of the season whick will take part in Antwerpen, Belgium. So much looking forward to it !
